Through community outreach, North Shore Horizons offers a variety of programs for domestic and sexual violence prevention for all ages.

The Safe and Strong Curricula provides prevention and body protection education from Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade including parent/teacher meetings to familiarize parents and teachers with concepts pertaining to child sexual abuse.


Healthy Relationships Curricula

In partnership with ISD 381, we educate 8th and 10th grade students about Healthy Relationships. We discuss topics such as: Boundaries, Online Safety, Consent and Characteristics of Healthy vs. Unhealthy Relationships. Check out our Stand Up North Shore Facebook Page for more information:



Domestic and Sexual Violence Presentations
Topics vary and can include:

  • Free and Confidential Services provided by North Shore Horizons.
  • Information on the Lake County Crisis Response Team.
  • Prevention education programs in our schools.
  • What is domestic violence?
  • What is sexual assault?
  • Sexual Assault Advocacy Training, a 40-hour mandatory training for crisis line volunteers,
    is an excellent training with group discussions.
  • Training for law enforcement and probation office regarding best practices and new laws
    pertaining to sexual assault and domestic violence.

Stand Up North Shore: Green Dot for Healthy Relationships

We are part of a community initiative to prevent violence throughout Lake County.
